Choral Grants
Choral Grants are being currently offered for access to sheet music for choirs who have are unable to afford the music. As of 2026, the grants have shifted focus exclusively to providing access to music for choirs in need, specifically, access to PDF sheet music of Michael John Trotta as published by Hampton Roads Music Group.
History of the Choral Grants
Passionate about removing barriers to new music and artistic excellence, composer and conductor Michael John Trotta has created and funded a new initiative that distributed grants to choir directors and scholarships to future choral directors.
In 2024 and 2025, Trotta’s grants were awarded to 10 choirs, 8 graduate students , 7 undergraduate students, and provided more than 10,000 copies of sheet music to choirs in need.
As of 2026, the grants have shifted focus exclusively to providing access to music for choirs in need, specifically, access to PDF sheet music of Michael John Trotta as published by Hampton Roads Music Group.
To date, the grants have provided over $100,000 in aid to provide music and musical experiences for people in need.
