Kahla Middle School
The winner of the 2018-2019 Commission is Kahla Middle School, Bradley Acree, Head Choir Director. Many thanks to over 150 Choirs applied for a chance to win a free commission for their choir. Of these applicants , the choir at Kahla Middle School, of Houston, Texas, was chosen for a collaboration in the 2018-19 season.

Kahla Middle School Combined Treble Choir
Kahla Middle School is in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Made up of a diverse group of students, the Kahla Middle School Choir program consistently receives the top ratings at UIL and TMEA events.

Bradley Acree is currently the Head Choir Director at Kahla Middle School in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Prior to coming to Kahla, he taught at Salyards and Arnold Middle School While at Arnold the Tenor Bass Choir performed as an invited Honor Choir at the 2014 TMEA Convention. Choirs under his direction have consistently received Superior ratings at UIL festival and Best in Class ratings at state festivals. Mr. Acree has served as the Tenor Section Leader for Region 27 Middle School Region Honor Choir since 2013. In the summer of 2015, he was honored to be a section leader for the TCDA Honor Choir under the direction of Andrea Ramsey. Mr. Acree graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. He is on the board of directors and is one of the founding members of the Houston Men’s Choir, a professional vocal ensemble that performs throughout the Houston area. Outside of the classroom he keeps an active schedule as a private voice teacher, clinician, adjudicator, and professional singer. He is currently a member of member of TMEA and TCDA.
